The Eight Limbs was designed so that we come to understand ourselves, and by doing so, we become better equipped to relate to those around us. It is a guideline that helps us respond rather than react to external stimuli. In other words, we start behaving consciously and with awareness instead of mechanically.
When we talk about consciousness and awareness, this also means that we regain power over our lives. We are alert as to what we are doing, how we are doing it, and what the consequences of our actions are.
