Dandasana strengthens the major core & back muscles while lengthening the spine & broadening the chest & shoulders. It also gives a mild stretch to the hamstrings. This pose has a grounding & calming effect on the energetic body.
People with lower back issues may do this pose, but with the proper usage of props.
